This role is for a 3rd Shift Facilities Engineer at Caterpillar, responsible for overseeing maintenance, special projects, and improving operational efficiency within industrial facilities. The role involves managing capital and expense projects, maintaining documentation, performing site condition surveys, supporting contractor interactions, and troubleshooting system failures. It requires strong skills in collaboration, problem-solving, and project management, with a focus on industrial facility and capital project experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assist with and/or develop Capital and Expense projects for review, including development of supporting documentation.
  2. Maintain critical documentation such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Safe Job Procedures (SJP).
  3. Perform site condition surveys, including fire protection, mechanical, electrical, and other miscellaneous condition observations. Assign work and follow-up to rectify findings.
  4. Manage and execute effective handoffs, including follow-up on ongoing project and maintenance work.
  5. Support contractor interactions, contractor safety requirements, and ensure contractors perform work in accordance with Caterpillar’s safety requirements.
