Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Physician Program Director in Japan to establish and grow formal Impella programs by building relationships with healthcare stakeholders and key opinion leaders. This role involves understanding hospital market dynamics, developing program strategies, presenting health economic information, and acting as a liaison between hospitals and internal Abiomed resources.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop sustainable relationships with designated accounts, health systems, key opinion leaders and stakeholders, to impact and maximize Abiomed formalization of Impella programs and optimize outcomes.
  2. Build a strong KOL network across focus accounts, including peer to peer relationship building, society, education and podium presence.
  3. Develop and manage Impella programs based on individual customer needs and interests that are mutually beneficial to the needs and interests of Abiomed
  4. Understand hospital market dynamics, access through Impella committee, uncover gaps in operational efficiency and patient care, and deploy appropriate tools that will ultimately allow us to reach more patients
  5. Present complex health economic information to influential and diverse groups in a way that is engaging, credible, and easily understood.

Skills

Required

  • BA/BS required
  • >7 years of related industry sales experience or program development with proven success
  • Must be able to travel overnight (25% depending on geography)
  • Strong understanding of regional health care policy and payment systems, including hospital and physician reimbursement.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, experienced developing relationships at all organizational levels to influence business objectives.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with intricate planning and strong tactical execution.
  • Demonstrates responsiveness and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of cardiac anatomy and clinical data.

Nice to have

  • Prior KOL management experience or existing relationships in geographic area
  • MBS or MBA preferred
  • Mastery of cardiac anatomy and clinical data
  • Previous experience in key account management
  • Previous experience in marketing role/function and/or professional education
