Account Executive, Data Feed & API

This role is for an Account Executive focused on selling PitchBook's API and data feed solutions to clients in the financial industry. The AE will consult with clients, partner with internal teams, manage sales opportunities, and forecast pipeline. Requires experience with customer-facing data feed and API solutions, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

What you'd actually do

  1. Consult with PitchBook clients and prospects to determine suitability of our customer-facing data feed and API solutions in their processes
  2. Partner with PitchBook’s Commercial (Account Management, Customer Success, and Business Development) teams to sell data feed and API solutions to clients and prospects
  3. Proactively explore opportunities to deepen commercial relationships leveraging your knowledge of your customers’ business and data needs
  4. Manage a queue of client or prospect projects and sales opportunities
  5. Accurately forecast opportunity pipeline on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis

Skills

Required

  • 2+ years previous experience in business development or customer success in a revenue generating/closing role
  • Experience working with customer-facing data feed and API solutions and implementation, particularly with RESTful APIs
  • Experience working in a cross-functional account management organization with divided responsibilities and defined collaborative workstreams
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences including methods for fuzzy matching, name matching, and record reconciliation
  • Previous experience selling to large banking, general partner, limited partner, and non-financial corporate customers.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
  • Proficiency working with Salesforce, Catalyst, and other CRM tools
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Nice to have

  • Willingness to learn database concepts, including including but not limited to relational tables, data types, and normalization
  • Both social and technical with the ability to foster relationships with senior level executives
