Account Executive role focused on driving cloud adoption and revenue growth within the Australian defence sector, partnering with Defence Primes, agencies, and the Defence Industrial Base. The role involves positioning AWS as the primary cloud platform for transformational defence technology initiatives, including AI and ML, and helping customers develop their Digital Transformation and Sovereign Cloud strategies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute comprehensive account and territory plans to grow revenue and deepen cloud adoption across a defined portfolio of defence customers
  2. Create and maintain a robust sales pipeline of opportunities in existing accounts while driving net new business
  3. Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets and key performance metrics
  4. Build and cultivate long-term strategic relationships with key stakeholders including C-level executives, senior military leaders, program directors, and procurement teams
  5. Create and articulate compelling value propositions around cloud transformation, AI innovation, and defence-specific use cases including mission systems, logistics, and command and control

Skills

Required

  • Experience creating and implementing long-term transformational account strategies in a customer-facing role or equivalent
  • Experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements
  • Experience in oral and written communication
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience working with technology customers, such as software providers

Nice to have

  • Experience implementing a cloud-based technology solution
  • Knowledge of AWS or cloud technologies
  • AWS Associate level certification or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
  • Knowledge of defence sector challenges, capability acquisition processes, and procurement frameworks (e.g., Commonwealth Procurement Rules, Defence Industry Security Program)
  • Knowledge of key technology and market trends impacting defence, including sovereign AI, zero trust, and multi-domain operations
  • Demonstrated ability to work with military and civilian defence stakeholders and understand mission requirements
