Account Executive, E-commerce

This role is for an Account Executive at Brex, an intelligent finance platform for companies. The role focuses on winning new revenue from small to mid-sized e-commerce businesses by selling Brex's Financial Operating System, which includes corporate cards, expense management, and travel software. The AE will prospect, build partnerships, and close deals, modernizing how businesses manage spend across various operational areas. The role requires understanding e-commerce business models and financial needs, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Full-Cycle Sales Execution: Own the end-to-end sales process from outbound prospecting to discovery, product demos, and closing deals.
  2. Pipeline Generation & Management: Consistently source and qualify leads to maintain a strong, reliable pipeline.
  3. Value-Based Selling: Clearly communicate ROI and business value by understanding each prospect's goals and aligning Brex’s solutions to their needs.
  4. Customer-Centric Problem Solving: Build trust through insight and service, helping prospects navigate challenges and unlock growth.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales Development, Product, and Underwriting to create a smooth and impactful buyer experience.

Skills

Required

  • 1+ years of closing experience in B2B SaaS sales, ideally in a high-volume or new business-focused role
  • A high-performing SDR/BDR background with a strong track record of sourcing and qualifying opportunities
  • Strong ability to communicate value and ROI to small or mid-sized business stakeholders
  • Consistent quota attainment and a history of top-tier performance
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a focus on results and customer impact
  • Experience selling to or working with E-Commerce and Direct-to-Consumer brands, with a strong understanding of their operational and financial needs

Nice to have

  • Active participation in the E-Commerce ecosystem, including conferences, events, communities, or professional networks
  • Strong understanding of paid media, online customer acquisition, and the financial implications of scaling e-commerce businesses
  • Familiarity selling financial or operational software used by e-commerce teams (Expense Management, Payments, ERP, AP Automation, Banking, Accounting, etc.)
