This role is for an Account Executive focused on selling AWS cloud services, including AI/ML solutions, to educational institutions in Australia. The primary responsibility is driving cloud adoption and revenue growth by building strategic relationships with customers and helping them implement digital transformation and AI innovation strategies. While AI/ML is a key component of the solutions offered, the role itself is sales-focused rather than directly building or researching AI models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute comprehensive account and territory plans to grow revenue and deepen cloud adoption across a defined portfolio of education customers
  2. Create and maintain a robust sales pipeline of opportunities in existing accounts while driving net new business
  3. Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets and key performance metrics
  4. Build and cultivate long-term strategic relationships with key stakeholders including C-level executives, academic leaders, IT directors, and procurement teams
  5. Create and articulate compelling value propositions around cloud transformation, AI innovation, and education-specific use cases

Skills

Required

  • Direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C-level executives
  • Meeting revenue targets and quotas
  • Creating and implementing long-term transformational account strategies in a customer-facing role or equivalent
  • Developing, negotiating and executing business agreements
  • Written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization (technical, business, executive)
  • Working with education sector customers (K-12, Higher Education, or Research institutions)

Nice to have

  • Implementing a cloud-based technology solution, or experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Knowledge of AWS or the cloud computing industry
  • AWS Associate level certification or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • Architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
  • Knowledge of key technology and market trends
  • Knowledge of education sector challenges, funding models, and procurement processes
  • Ability to work with academic stakeholders and understand research and teaching requirements
