Boeing is seeking an Accounting Policy Senior Manager to provide accounting policy guidance for the company's acquisition, divestiture, and joint venture transactions. The role involves managing accounting due diligence, identifying risks, preparing technical accounting whitepapers, and managing relationships with third-party valuation experts. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of accounting experience, with a preference for CPA and experience in technical accounting or M&A.

What you'd actually do

  1. Primary M&A transaction liaison between Boeing's Accounting function and the Corporate Development group, Business Unit Controllers, multiple other functions (tax, IT, etc.), internal & external auditors, and third-party valuation experts
  2. Manage and perform the accounting due diligence process and support integration for all M&A transactions
  3. Identify key accounting risks for M&A transactions and recommend mitigations
  4. Provide accounting policy guidance on such matters including consolidation, purchase price allocation, goodwill impairment testing, equity method accounting, revenue recognition, and inventory valuation
  5. Communicate accounting due diligence results and integration priorities to executive leadership

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting
  • Currently a manager or previously held a manager position

Nice to have

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • 8+ years of experience in industry and/or public accounting
  • Experience working for a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Experience in technical accounting and/or mergers and acquisitions activity through industry and/or public accounting
