This Business Analyst role focuses on building models, tools, and systems for operational decision-making within Amazon's Australian network. Responsibilities include developing optimization models, automated dashboards, production tools, and ETL pipelines, and applying AI and automation to accelerate delivery. What you'd actually do

  1. Build and maintain automated dashboards and reporting (QuickSight, Redshift) for operational metrics, training compliance, and WBR/MBR/QBR inputs
  2. Develop production tools, websites, and ETL pipelines that replace manual processes with scalable solutions
  3. Analyse complex datasets to surface patterns, conduct root cause deep dives, and deliver actionable recommendations to leadership
  4. Develop optimisation models that support network strategy — throughput planning, cost efficiency, and resource allocation
  5. Apply AI and automation to accelerate delivery, while maintaining critical thinking and ensuring output quality and accuracy

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent, or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
  • 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or an equivalent role experience
  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence, or experience in quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance)
  • Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quick Sight / Tableau / Power BI or other BI packages
  • Experience in data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership

Nice to have

  • Experience contributing to the definition and implementation of automation opportunities within an operations environment
  • Knowledge of data engineering pipelines, cloud solutions, ETL management, databases, visualizations and analytical platforms
  • Master's degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or related science field, or experience with machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance
  • Experience in Logistics, Distribution or Fulfillment processes
  • Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk management, and critical path management
  • Experience distilling informal customer requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives
