This role focuses on developing, optimizing, and sustaining precision adhesive joint systems and laser processing operations within an advanced manufacturing lab. It involves materials science, process engineering, experimental design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers. The role requires hands-on experience with adhesive processes and laser equipment, with a focus on continuous improvement and documentation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for complex adhesive joint systems in a lab environment
  2. Collaborate with internal cross functional partners & external suppliers to design experiments consisting of scope definition, adhesive selection, adhesive joint design, and design of fixtures/assembly tools that support repeatability, efficiency and reliability
  3. Prioritize, schedule, design, and conduct adhesive process investigations. Throughout experiment, communicate progress, document and present results to leadership teams.
  4. Operate and maintain lab equipment to support trials, including working with suppliers for maintenance, repairs and upgrades, developing detailed work instructions, process flows, and assembly documentation
  5. Practical experience operating laser processing equipment for marking, ablation, and cutting applications, with the ability to rapidly learn new laser platforms and techniques.
