Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Administration Generalist to provide strategic oversight and hands-on execution of non-specialized administration functions within the Missile Products engineering organization. This role involves designing and improving administrative policies, managing office operations, supporting executives, handling financial administration, and ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards like AS9100. The position requires strong technical and leadership skills, proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, and the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, implement, and continuously improve core administrative policies and procedures.
  2. Lead cross‑functional projects that streamline workflow, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
  3. Administer daily Design/Test/Pre-Ship Scheduling for development and production hardware end-items
  4. Provide high‑level calendar, travel, and meeting management for the executive team, including Senior Director.
  5. Manage departmental budgets, expense tracking, and invoicing processes.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration or a closely related field
  • 2+ years of administrative experience (Level 2) or 5+ years (Level 3)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

Nice to have

  • Minimum 10 years of administrative experience
  • Minimum 5 years in the defense industry
  • Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) or similar credential
  • Experience in a fast‑growing, matrixed organization
  • Active Secret Clearance
