Ads Revenue Accountant

Netflix is seeking an Ads Revenue Accountant to support its growing advertising business. The role involves owning key revenue accounting areas, performing month-end close activities, managing invoicing and billing, and partnering with cross-functional teams like Sales Ops, Ad Ops, Legal, and Engineering to support ads finance and billing infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of accounting experience, with a preference for experience in ad tech, media, or ad agencies. Responsibilities include ensuring accuracy in revenue recognition, executing billing processes, and driving process improvements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own accuracy and completeness of key Ads revenue accounting areas across Direct IO (direct insertion orders), Live, and Brand Partnerships/Sponsorships.
  2. Perform month- and quarter-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, reporting, customer remediation (makegoods, credit memos, re-bills), and other close related procedures.
  3. Invoicing and Billing specialist responsible for timely and accurate invoice review, distribution, and revision.
  4. Execute manual billing processes for revenue streams or product features not yet supported by automated billing systems.
  5. Partner cross-functionally (Legal, Sales, Sales Ops, Finance, Tax) to provide revenue recognition, invoicing, and accounting guidance.

Skills

Required

  • 5 years of accounting experience
  • Proven project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements
  • Experience with CRM and/or OMS

Nice to have

  • Experience with Workday Financials or other cloud based ERP systems
  • Prior experience with revenue recognition, invoicing, billing, cash collection, or cash application workflows
  • Prior experience working at an advertising technology, media company, and/or Ad Agency/HoldCo
