This role is within Google's gTech Ads division, focusing on providing technical support, media, and consulting services for Google's Ad products. The Solutions Engineer will collect requirements, design and build scalable solutions, adapt existing solutions for global reuse, manage the solution lifecycle, and act as a technical consultant for customers, particularly in data integration for measurement and attribution. While experience with machine learning is preferred, the core of the role is in ad product support and solution engineering, not direct AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collect requirements, provide guidance, and best practices to apply to ad products and technologies.
  2. Be responsible for proactively scoping, designing, and building series of solutions and best practices at a global level to be reused by customers, sellers, partners.
  3. Leverage engineering skills to adapt existing bespoke ads solutions created by regional teams into globally scaled solutions that can support thousands of customers.
  4. Own solution life cycle from discovery, to launch, handling maintenance bugs & feature requests, as well as deprecation for a portfolio of scaled solutions.
  5. Serve as technical consults with Google customers to help in data integration for better measurement & attribution.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
  • Experience working with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in an analytical role such as business intelligence, data analytics, or statistics.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as architecting, developing, or maintaining cloud solutions in virtualized environments or cloud data engineering.
  • Experience using machine learning and building solutions.
  • Experience working with systems (e.g., Linux, Unix).
