This role focuses on the development and implementation of key production processes and quality for Apple batteries in a high-volume manufacturing environment. It involves close collaboration with various internal teams and external suppliers to ensure product design compliance and manufacturing capability. The responsibilities include material and cell process development, new product introduction, supplier assessment, and driving process improvements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Review battery material designs, specifications and provide Design for Manufacturing feedback to Apple Material Development Engineering based on process capability and quality within the supply chain.
  2. Plan, propose, and lead Design of Experiments (DOE) activities to produce timely and accurate analyses used to drive design, process development, and supply chain decisions.
  3. Assess the suitability of a fabrication and/or assembly strategy or technology for a given battery material design. Plan validation exercises to demonstrate initial feasibility as well as manufacturing capability.
  4. Review progress of development activities at supplier locations and serve as point of escalation for critical process related issues.
  5. Collaborate with suppliers to establish manufacturing Process and Quality Control Plans, for early detection of issues and to ensure consistent quality is achieved.
