Advanced Certification Engineer (hardware Testing)

This role focuses on setting up and managing an electrical product test lab for regulatory testing of fire safety products. The engineer will interpret regulatory standards, advise engineering teams, prepare test plans, perform hardware and software testing, and ensure compliance with global standards. The role requires a strong understanding of product compliance methodologies within a regulated environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Set up a new electrical product test lab for testing safety standards to perform regulatory testing according to applicable standards
  2. Revise existing and create new test and quality procedures for the new lab with assistance of regulatory manager
  3. Act as regulatory technical expert to support compliance with new & existing Fire projects
  4. Interpret regulatory standards and advise engineering teams so they meet product requirements
  5. Prepare test plans, setup systems, coordinate testing and obtain approval results with agencies

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or 15 years of experience testing fire safety products
  • 7 years of experience with new product development, agency approvals or in an electrical/electronic testing laboratory or equivalent experience

Nice to have

  • certified UL DAP, FM LABQUAL, or Intertek Satellite test lab experience

  • lab equipment and relevant software utilization
