Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, Desktop

This role focuses on manufacturing research and development for desktop products, aiming to solve complex problems impacting cost, quality, and delivery. Responsibilities include technical leadership, process development, optimization, and implementation of new technologies. The role involves design for manufacturability, product engineering, process engineering, and failure/data analysis, utilizing Six Sigma principles. It requires a BSME or equivalent and offers opportunities for mentorship and project leadership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Technical lead for manufacturing operations at multiple vendors and sites.
  2. Driving contract manufacturer preparation for pre-production builds.
  3. Production process development, documentation, optimization and validation.
  4. Development and implementation of new technologies to improve production quality, capacity and efficiency.
  5. Sets standard practices and independently settles impact to design approaches and parameters to the final product.

Skills

Required

  • BSME equivalent (MSME, MSIE desired), majors on Mechanical / Electrical engineering.
  • understand and tolerance stack ups for assemblies and part level.

Nice to have

  • Direct experience leading any of the following functional engineering teams a plus (ME, EE, TE, DFX, Etc.).
  • Relevant experience in introducing products into manufacturing, or high volume production a large plus.
  • Excellent project management skills, experience working in a matrix organization.
  • Shown bottom line project management experience, e.g. Planning, Cost, & Delivery, etc.
  • Experience working with International OEM partners.
  • New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience desired.
  • Consistent record of cost reduction, project management and engineering design required.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T principles a plus.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, servomotors, PLC and PC-based control systems a plus.
  • JMP, Minitab & Six Sigma experience a plus.
  • Coding skills, and website front-end development is plus.
  • Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment.
  • Learning agility with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30%.
