What you'd actually do

  1. provide conceptual and preliminary design support for strategic systems, driving system-concept development, requirements definition, and allocation.
  2. make technical contributions to a growing team of designers and analysts, advancing conceptual and preliminary designs and maturing technologies for future deterrence concepts.
  3. contribute to trade-studies, architecture development, and systems-engineering efforts, influencing designs to deliver credible weapon-system concepts that satisfy performance, cost, schedule and risk targets while clarifying the trade-off space among capability, life-cycle cost and technical availability.
  4. identify, assess, and track technology roadmaps and emerging support-system capability gaps to inform technology development and concept definition.
  5. conceive and mature new business opportunities that drive division growth and will transition innovative solutions, technologies, and advanced concepts that support U.S. strategic-deterrence interests into programs of record for product development and fielding.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline
  • 12 years of related experience (10 with Masters, 8 with PhD)
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
  • 5+ years of experience with Nuclear Hardness & Survivability (NH&S) systems design and testing

Nice to have

  • Requirements Development, Verification, and Validation experience for nuclear systems, hypersonic, or other surety systems
  • Systems engineering principles and processes with demonstrated experience in system development, integration, and test
  • Multi-disciplinary engineering exposure (software, hardware, electrical)
  • Strong ability to communicate cross functionally to derive requirements and systems
