Advanced R&d Engr/scientist

Honeywell Honeywell · Industrial · Des Plaines, IL +1

Develops process design and technoeconomic evaluations for new process technologies, from R&D to commercialization. This involves creating simulations, material balances, equipment designs, and utility estimates, and performing techno-economic analyses. The role also includes generating Basic Engineering Packages for technology transfer.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop process design and technoeconomic evaluations which are critical to the development and support of new process technologies from their inception in R&D through the commercialization stage.
  2. Work with other members of the Development organization, as well as UOP's Engineering Department, Research Group, and Business Team.
  3. Develop simulations, material balances, preliminary equipment designs and utilities estimates for new process concepts based on preliminary yield & performance estimates.
  4. Use commercial process simulation software to establish the basis for the evaluation and optimization of design concepts.
  5. Perform techno-economic analyses (TEAs) of process concepts including the assessment of key parameters impacting process profitability, safety, and reliability.
  6. Generate Basic Engineering Packages (BEPs) for new process technologies as the primary means of transferring new process technologies from R&D to Engineering.
