Aerodynamics Engineer, Air Vehicles

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · Air Dominance & Strike : Air Dominance & Strike Hardware : Aerodynamics & Performance

This role focuses on the aerodynamic design and analysis of air vehicles and missile platforms for a defense technology company. Responsibilities include conceptual, preliminary, and detail design, aerodynamic analysis using various methods (including CFD), stability and control analysis, performance modeling, loads generation, and planning/executing wind tunnel and flight tests. Requires strong programming skills in MATLAB/Python for tool development and experience with aerodynamic analysis techniques.

What you'd actually do

  1. Aerodynamic design of unmanned air vehicles/missiles at conceptual, preliminary, and detail design maturities
  2. Aerodynamic analysis of unmanned air vehicles, using both low and high order methods, including analysis tool development and improvement as needed
  3. Stability and control analysis
  4. Aircraft performance modeling and simulation
  5. Aerodynamic loads generation
