Software Engineer to build and enhance production AI-enabled features for an AI-powered platform used by customer service agents, retail associates, and field technicians. The role involves developing user-facing experiences, integrating AI/LLM services, and contributing to backend services within a .NET/React environment, focusing on reliability, explainability, and scalability in enterprise settings.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and enhance production AI-enabled features across both the frontend and backend of Mercury Application Space
  2. Develop user-facing experiences that incorporate AI-powered recommendations, summaries, and task guidance into real-time workflows
  3. Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and data/AI partners to translate business needs into scalable, maintainable AI-backed solutions
  4. Integrate AI and LLM-driven services into existing enterprise systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and observability
  5. Contribute to backend services (primarily .NET, with some Java) that support real-time agent workflows and AI-driven decisioning

Skills

Required

  • 2+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience building and shipping production software
  • Experience designing and implementing real-world applications, not just prototypes or demos
  • Strong understanding of core web technologies and how they are applied at scale
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React preferred; Angular or Vue also welcome)
  • Backend development experience using .NET or Java, with an understanding of service-oriented or microservices architectures
  • Familiarity integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services into enterprise platforms
  • Exposure to AI-augmented applications, such as recommendation systems, summarization, decision support, or workflow automation
  • Comfort using AI-enabled developer tools like GitHub Copilot as part of day-to-day development
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams
  • A mindset of ownership, curiosity, and continuous learning

  • Experience working with AI-driven workflows, agent assist systems, or decision-support tools used in production
  • Familiarity with real-time systems, asynchronous messaging, or event-driven architectures
  • Exposure to cloud-native development, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment practices
