AI Builder Intern

Scale AI Scale AI · Data AI · San Francisco, CA · Data, Technology & Systems

This internship focuses on building and deploying AI-powered tools, automating workflows, and creating agentic systems using LLM-integrated frameworks. The role involves developing internal tools, dashboards, and API-connected automations, with an emphasis on shipping functional products and measuring their impact. It requires hands-on experience with LLM APIs, Python/JavaScript, and familiarity with agentic frameworks.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and deploy multi-step agentic workflows using LLM-integrated frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar)
  2. Build API-connected automations that tie together internal tools — Slack, Salesforce, Notion, and internal data systems
  3. Prototype and iterate fast; build things that work, then make them better
  4. Develop lightweight internal tools and dashboards that surface AI outputs to business teams
  5. Vibe-code functional UIs — React, plain JS, or whatever gets to working fastest — for internal adoption

Skills

Required

  • LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
  • Python
  • JavaScript
  • agentic or automation framework (LangChain, AutoGen, n8n, Zapier + LLM, etc.)
  • product instincts
  • iterative, scrappy, but deliberate development

Nice to have

  • BizOps, RevOps, or enterprise automation context
  • integrating Slack, Salesforce, or finance/ops systems via APIs
  • multi-agent architecture
  • prompt engineering
  • RAG pipelines
  • LLM evals
  • GitHub, portfolio, or side project

What the JD emphasized

  • building — shipping AI-powered tools, automating workflows, and deploying agentic systems
  • bias for building over theorizing
  • fluency in modern LLM tooling
  • build things that work, then make them better
  • production-quality code
  • move fast without breaking things that matter; iterative, scrappy, but deliberate
