AI Governance Lead - Vice President

This role focuses on establishing and executing the governance framework for AI, ML, and GenAI within a highly regulated financial services environment. The Lead will translate policy into practical processes, controls, and tooling, ensuring transparency through executive reporting and preparing for audits and regulatory requests. It involves partnering with risk, legal, compliance, and technology teams to manage AI risks and ensure responsible adoption.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the definition and adoption of the in-business analytics ownership operating model, including clear roles, responsibilities, and decision rights across stakeholders
  2. Maintain and continuously improve artificial intelligence and machine learning governance documentation (procedures, charters, operating models, and job aids), including managing periodic reviews and refresh cycles
  3. Partner with data science, architecture, engineering, and data stakeholders to assess impacts of new policies, standards, and procedures, and translate requirements into actionable implementation plans
  4. Coordinate and drive end-to-end execution of Commercial & Investment Bank-wide rollout plans, including communications, milestones, dependencies, and adoption tracking
  5. Design and build executive-ready governance reporting and dashboards that provide clear visibility into adherence, risk themes, and remediation progress

Skills

Required

  • Formal training or certification on artificial intelligence and machine learning governance concepts
  • 5+ years applied experience in AI/ML governance
  • Experience delivering or governing AI/ML/GenAI solutions in financial services or a highly regulated environment
  • Ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders across risk, legal, compliance, controls, business, and technology teams
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to influence across teams, build consensus, and drive adoption without direct authority
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, deadlines, and changes in priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Alteryx
  • Familiarity with model risk management concepts and governance expectations for machine learning models
  • Knowledge of banking, markets, and trading, and how analytics is applied across those domains
  • Experience building executive reporting routines, metrics, and dashboards that support governance and control outcomes
  • Exposure to governance tooling implementation, workflow design, or controls automation initiatives
