Boeing is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician for general aviation maintenance, avionics, and structural work on 5th generation military fighter aircraft at Edwards Air Force Base, CA. The role involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications to aircraft systems, including electrical and avionics. Requires a Secret Security Clearance and the ability to obtain program access. Experience with military aircraft maintenance or an FAA Airframe/Powerplant license is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform aircraft maintenance on all aircraft systems, preventative maintenance, launch, recovery, and ground movement, alterations to aircraft structure, systems and sub-systems, including electrical and avionics on standard or experimental certificated aircraft under engineering direction
  2. Load and test software and perform operational checks for hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and avionics systems
  3. Install, test and repair fiber optic and electrical wire
  4. Troubleshoot, inspect, test, repair, service aircraft and engine systems to prepare aircraft for flight
  5. Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures

Skills

Required

  • Military aircraft maintenance experience with honorable discharge and/or FAA Airframe or FAA Powerplant License
  • 3+ years of experience in full-time aircraft flight line maintenance on military or commercial aviation aircraft
  • Willing to wear eye, hearing, foot, hand, respirator and other personal protective equipment/safety gear at all times
  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime

Nice to have

  • 4+ years of experience in full-time military aircraft flight line maintenance on fighter aircraft with an honorable discharge (Avionics, Crew Chief, Structures at 5 or 7 level)
  • 5+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance on complex jet powered aircraft with military, airline or certificated repair station background
  • Experience supporting the F-22 program
  • Current F-22 Special Access Program clearance
