Aircraft Structures Mechanic for Northrop Grumman's E-2D Manufacturing and Production Organization. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, fabricating structural assemblies, fitting parts, measuring dimensions, and assembling hydraulic systems, fuel lines, and electrical harnesses. Requires attention to detail, quality focus, and ability to work flexible shifts. Experience in aerospace manufacturing and A&P certificate are preferred. Requires ability to obtain a Secret DOD clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Read and understand blueprints
  2. Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include: precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
  3. Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
  4. Performing part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming
  5. Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
