What you'd actually do

  1. Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
  2. Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
  3. Performing part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
  4. Measures parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
  5. May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedure

Skills

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 6 years of structures mechanic experience
  • Ability to follow written, electronic, and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to wear a respirator and other safety gear

  • 7+ years of E-2 structures experience
  • E-2 Fuselage structures experience
