Aircraft Systems Mechanic responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing aircraft and engine systems, reading blueprints, assembling and installing hydraulic systems, and performing maintenance on various aircraft systems. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various positions and environments. It can be filled at Level 2 or Level 3 based on experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems.
  2. Read and interpret blueprints.
  3. Assemble and install hydraulic systems.
  4. Conduct diagnosis of malfunctions
  5. Perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions.

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years' experience with engine/hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, and systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment (for Level 2)
  • 4 years' experience with engine/hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, and systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment (for Level 3)
  • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work
  • Ability to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment
  • Ability to pass Medical/Respiratory Exam
  • Ability to work any work schedule
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DOD clearance

Nice to have

  • Experience in working on or around operational aircraft.
  • Completion of an A&P certificate program
  • E-2D Experience
