What you'd actually do

  1. Read and interpret blueprints
  2. Assemble and install hydraulic systems
  3. Conduct diagnosis of malfunctions
  4. Perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions
  5. Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems

Skills

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 months’ work experience with hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, and systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
  • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work
  • Ability to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment
  • Ability to pass medical/respiratory evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
  • Ability to utilize a computer for basic functions

Nice to have

  • Plumbing/Pipe fitting experience
  • HVAC experience
  • Car/bus/train mechanic experience
  • Completion of an A&P certificate program
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with a background investigation completed within the last six years
