Aircraft Systems Mechanic (Levels 2 & 3) at Northrop Grumman in Palmdale, CA. What you'd actually do

  1. Read and interpret blueprints
  2. Assemble and install hydraulic systems
  3. Conduct diagnosis of malfunctions
  4. Perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions
  5. Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems

Skills

Required

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years’ experience (Level 2) or 5 years’ experience (Level 3) with hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, and systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
  • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work
  • Ability to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment
  • Ability to pass medical/respiratory evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
  • US citizenship required for clearance
  • Ability to utilize a computer for basic functions

Nice to have

  • Plumbing/Pipe fitting experience
  • HVAC experience
  • Car/bus/train mechanic experience
  • Completion of an A&P certificate program
  • Active Government Secret Clearance with a background investigation completed within the last six years
