Boeing is seeking an Aircraft Technician to assemble, install, integrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft electrical systems and mechanical components. Responsibilities include installing and troubleshooting systems, building assemblies, validating and testing electrical systems, repairing or replacing defective parts, performing routine maintenance, and fabricating components. Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience with aircraft wiring and systems installation, ability to read technical manuals, and physical capability for the role. FAA A&P certification and experience with H47 Chinook or rotorcraft platforms are preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assemble and/or install partial or complete mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic, electrical systems, and components in airframes. Install, connect, and troubleshoot systems in aircraft.
  2. Install auto flight, communication, navigation, and interphone equipment. Conduct functional inspections of all installed systems. Diagnose malfunctions and perform adjustments and repairs.
  3. Build major mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using assembly drawings, specifications, shop orders, and precision measuring instruments.
  4. Validate/verify, test, maintain and repair aircraft electrical systems, wiring, avionics-related components and related equipment utilizing automatic checkout equipment as required
  5. Repair or replace defective parts, wiring, connectors, hydraulic components and mechanical assemblies

Skills

Required

  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience with aircraft wiring and systems installation and/or assemblies and subassemblies
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, climb and work in confined spaces or at heights as required

Nice to have

  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certification
  • Experience with H47 Chinook avionics, electrical or mechanical systems
  • Experience with rotorcraft platforms
  • Previous work in aircraft assembly, maintenance, heavy maintenance or MRO environments
