This role is for an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Senior Investigator I within Capital One's Special Investigations Unit. The primary responsibilities involve investigating suspicious activities, assessing risks, documenting findings, and writing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in compliance with regulations. The role requires experience in AML or fraud investigation and proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite. Preferred qualifications include more extensive experience, a Bachelor's degree, and relevant certifications like ACAMS or CFE. The position offers a work-from-home option with specific technology and location requirements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Review system generated alerts, assess impact to AML processes, conduct research as required, and document results in written format.
  2. Write suspicious activity reports (conducts enterprise wide reviews of the relationship), make closing recommendations, and other applicable AML processes in accordance with regulations and time limitations.
  3. Self-manage a queue of alerts, cases, and closing investigations
  4. Help maintain operations of a SIU Specialty Desk and actively contributes, which can include keeping desk guides current and decisioning referrals
  5. Build and maintain awareness of the broader context and implications of the various types of risk affecting the business (e.g., financial, legal, reputation, etc.).

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 2 years of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or Fraud investigative experience filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
  • At least 1 year of Microsoft Office or Google Suite experience

Nice to have

  • 3+ years AML or Fraud investigative experience filing SARs.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI), or other relevant certification(s) or industry-related association membership
