This role manages maintenance operations for Amazon's global facilities, focusing on monitoring, predicting performance issues, and planning maintenance activities. It involves leading a team, developing business strategies, and optimizing digital maintenance systems for remote monitoring of building infrastructure and cold rooms.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the development and own the BBM and Refrigeration business strategies, setting a vision, roles and responsibilities, and clear goals for the team.
  2. Recruit, build, inspire, and motivate a team of escalation specialists, Refrigeration Specialist’s, schedulers, and junior managers operating across multiple time zones.
  3. Implement Amazon people process ensuring development and professional growth for all team members
  4. Lead a robust meeting structure including daily stand-ups, shift handovers, and weekly business reviews to ensure seamless operational coverage, drive team alignment, and maintain high-energy performance across all time zones
  5. Serve as the main point of escalation for complex mechanical and refrigeration issues, facilitating cross-functional meetings and making key decisions.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience in facilities management
  • Knowledge of generic mechanical room infrastructure such as chillers, cooler units, and fan controls
  • Experience leading teams
  • Experience in stakeholder management and communication management

Nice to have

  • Refrigeration Trade School certificate
  • Professional Engineering registration, or experience in facilities management, office management, corporate administrative services, or hospitality management
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent, or a GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or Security+ and experience applying machine learning algorithms to find business-critical patterns in operational data
