Lead a software engineering team responsible for the development, integration, and qualification of embedded software for aerospace and defense systems, with a focus on hardware operation, time-critical functions, and mission assurance. This role involves Control Account Management (CAM) responsibilities, including budget and schedule management, risk analysis, and presenting at program reviews. Requires a Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead a moderately sized team of software engineers and support staff through software development, integration, and qualification.
  2. Control Account Manager (CAM) with EVMS responsibilities – providing Earned Value (EV) metrics and authoring Baseline Change Requests (BCRs), Variance narratives (VARs), and Latest Revised Estimates (LREs) / Estimates At Complete (EACs).
  3. Maintain labor budgets and report deviations regularly to program leadership.
  4. Prepare and present review materials for milestone reviews, such as Incremental Design Review (IDR), Consent To Test (CTT), Test Readiness Review (TRR), Test Review Board (TRB), and Consent to Ship (CTS).
  5. Identify and analyze risks; develop / implement associated mitigation plans.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • eight years of prior relevant experience
  • Technical leadership experience on an embedded software development program utilizing Agile processes
  • Team leadership role with knowledge of IPTL/CAM responsibilities and duties
  • Developing complex systems involving the integration of hardware and software
  • Embedded C++ Software
  • Embedded Software Security
  • Software Architecture Design and Implementation
  • Software Integration and Qualification
  • embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance

  • Strong understanding of software development, integration, and verification processes
  • Leading teams through every phase of the software development life cycle
  • Working knowledge of internal EV tools and processes (status, BCRs, VARs, LREs); participation in preparation of BOEs
  • Experience with budget, schedule, and risk management tools such as Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Experience with budget, schedule, Estimate at Complete (EAC) process, and financial performance report generation
  • EVMS certification, Program Management certification, or equivalent to Raytheon PM Level 6 certification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
