Allstate Investments is seeking an Analyst for their Public and Private Asset-Backed Research team. The role involves conducting credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio surveillance for public ABS and private asset-backed finance strategies. Responsibilities include maintaining opinions on exposures, establishing underwriting frameworks, performing due diligence on external managers, and staying current on market dynamics and regulatory developments. The role requires a strong understanding of securitization structures, credit underwriting, financial modeling, and legal documentation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct fundamental and quantitative credit analysis and surveillance on the broad public asset-backed security (ABS) as well as private asset-backed finance (ABF) credit sectors including single-family rentals, infrastructure and other asset-based lending.
  2. Maintain an informed opinion on externally managed investment grade private ABF exposures including deal collateral, structures, covenants and legal documentation and ensure consistency of risk and return with mandate objectives.
  3. Establish investment underwriting framework and perform due diligence on external manager investment processes to develop greater conviction on manager strategy and execution.
  4. Participate in external manager deal pipeline calls to ensure alignment of deal flow with current mandates objectives.
  5. Stay current on regulatory developments, rating agency criteria, and market dynamics.
