Analytical Chemistry Technician with Mass Spectrometry experience for trace metal analysis in a clean room laboratory environment. Responsibilities include sample preparation, analysis, maintenance of laboratory equipment, and data reporting in support of manufacturing operations. Requires experience with ICPMS, titration, and chromatography techniques.

What you'd actually do

  1. Sample preparation, safe handling and mixing of chemicals, lab analysis and measurements, data collection, analysis and summarization, presentation of lab reports.
  2. Maintenance of lab analytical tools (scheduled and unscheduled maintenance), installation and qualification of lab equipment.
  3. Responsibility for accuracy of analytical data and precision of analytical tools.
  4. Safety initiatives, quality systems compliance/maintenance, lab equipment availability and timely delivery of analytical results.
  5. Lab sustaining and development, process transfer, tool ownership, BKM (Best Known Method) development, and cross training on other techniques.

Skills

Required

  • Level 7 qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) in Chemistry or Biochemistry or related field and 2+ years maintenance/chemical handling experience OR Level 6 qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) in Chemistry or Biochemistry or related field and 4+ years maintenance/chemical handling experience in a Lab or similar environment
  • Mass Spectrometry experience

Nice to have

  • L8 Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • Familiarity with laboratory scales and pipetting techniques
  • 4+ years of experience working in a high volume manufacturing or lab facility.
  • 1+ years of experience with ICPMS, Assay (titration or densitometry), GCMS, Ion Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography highly desired.
