This role is for a Strategic Initiatives Lead within OpenAI's Global Affairs team, focusing on the APAC region. The individual will drive the execution of regional initiatives, partnerships, and campaigns, working closely with various internal teams and external stakeholders to shape policy and advance responsible AI adoption. The role requires strong strategic planning, cross-functional coordination, and execution capabilities.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own end-to-end execution of select APAC strategic initiatives, ensuring clear strategy, sequencing, stakeholder alignment, delivery, and measurement.
  2. Partner with the Head of APAC Global Affairs and country leads to identify, shape, and execute priority regional initiatives across Asia Pacific.
  3. Translate regional priorities into actionable workplans, owners, milestones, timelines, risks, and decision points.
  4. Help design and execute APAC-wide and country-level initiatives that advance responsible AI adoption, strengthen OpenAI’s regional presence, and support priority policy outcomes.
  5. Support flagship partnerships, convenings, executive visits, and regional moments with governments, universities, industry, NGOs, civil society, and ecosystem leaders.
