This role focuses on data analysis, building automated dashboards and reporting pipelines, and leveraging large datasets (including geo-spatial data) to support business decisions for the Amazon Leo consumer team. It requires strong SQL, scripting for automation (Python), and experience with AWS technologies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Analyze large data sets to identify patterns, understand drivers, and generate insights for demand, retention, service plan mix, and seasonality models
  2. Write queries to extract data and insights combining datasets within Amazon Leo with publicly available datasets
  3. Design, build, and maintain automated reporting, dashboards, and recurrent analysis in support of data driven decisions across business operations
  4. Identify opportunities for automation to accelerate insight generation
  5. Analyze and create visualization of large geo-spatial data to drive subscriber growth strategies

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of professional or military experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
