Application Engineer - Technical Customer Lead

This role is for a Technical Customer Lead who will own account strategy for major enterprise customers, manage executive relationships, and work closely with customers to understand their development needs and propose effective use of Applied's autonomy products. The role requires strong software expertise, domain knowledge, and an execution-driven mindset to ensure customer success and drive problems to resolution. While the company works in physical AI and autonomy, this specific role focuses on customer engagement and product application rather than direct AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own account strategy for major enterprise customers of Applied
  2. Manage executive and leadership relationships
  3. Work closely with customers to understand their development needs and use cases for autonomy to propose effective use of Applied’s products
  4. Ensure customer needs are supported by broader engineering team through effective prioritization
  5. Collaborate with our sales and engineering teams to gather requirements through detailed technical discussions and workshops

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years experience working with external customers to integrate complex systems, troubleshoot issues, and/or drive problems to resolution
  • Strong grounding in large scale software development
  • Baseline knowledge in working with software systems, Linux, and cloud
  • Strong technical communication skills and focus on solving customer problems
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, software engineering or equivalent

Nice to have

  • Prior background in technical sales or application engineering for simulation products
  • Prior work in autonomous vehicle or robotics development domains
  • Experience with automotive OEMs or suppliers
