The role is a Project Management Associate within JPMorgan Chase's Corporate & Investment Bank, specifically focused on the Applied AI-ML for Payments group. The primary responsibility is to manage the portfolio of AI/ML projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, defining governance, managing the execution lifecycle, and tracking progress. While the group develops and deploys AI/ML solutions, this role is focused on project management and operational aspects rather than direct AI/ML model development or research.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with Senior Program Managers to shape the strategic direction of AI-ML initiatives in Payments.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts to identify and prioritize opportunities for AI/ML-driven process improvements and automation.
  3. Define and implement program governance, including roles, responsibilities, and key activities for AI-ML projects across operations.
  4. Manage the execution lifecycle and data attribute requirements for new AI/ML solutions, ensuring compliance with firmwide controls and SDLC requirements (leveraging JIRA in partnership with the implementation team).
  5. Develop a deep understanding of firmwide controls standards and ensure project documentation meets compliance requirements.

Skills

Required

  • 4–6 years of experience in Financial Services, with at least 3 years in Program / Project Management or PMO roles.
  • Proven track record in project/change management delivery and PMO analysis within a Financial Services environment.
  • Experience managing a large portfolio of projects, maintaining momentum, and achieving targets.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including experience with large data sets and synthesizing insights for decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling storyboards and presentations for senior management.
  • Solid understanding of project lifecycle management, supporting documentation, and control requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project).
  • Experience with execution lifecycle management and data attribute requirements in JIRA.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools (Alteryx, QlikView, Tableau) to support automation initiatives.

Nice to have

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Skills in data transformation (Alteryx, SQL) and basic knowledge of Python (a plus).
