Applied Value Engineer

This role focuses on applying AI, specifically LLMs and agents, to solve business problems for Japanese enterprise customers using the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform. The engineer will prototype solutions, demonstrate value, and ensure adoption, with a strong emphasis on RAG and agent orchestration within an enterprise context.

What you'd actually do

  1. AI Discovery & Solutioning (Japan Focus): Understand the specific AI strategies and challenges of Japanese customers. Translate their requirements into innovative solutions that align with local business practices.
  2. Hackathons & Prototyping: Rapidly build creative prototypes (LLM/Agent-based) to solve business-critical problems during customer hackathons.
  3. Agentic Process Transformation: Enable a fundamental shift for our customers from traditional automation to autonomous AI agents empowered by the Celonis PI Platform.
  4. Proof Projects: Execute end-to-end Proof-of-Value (PoV) projects, including architecture, RAG, and guardrails, ensuring compliance with enterprise data and identity frameworks.
  5. Cross-Border Collaboration: Work closely with the Japan-based account teams and executives to ensure project outcomes reach agreed value and adoption thresholds.

Skills

Required

  • 3-5 years of experience in technical pre-sales, defining AI roadmaps, and building ROI/TCO business cases.
  • Deep understanding of Generative AI techniques (RAG, multi-agent orchestration, prompt engineering)
  • Python (LangChain, pandas, PyTorch, etc.)
  • Understanding of business processes (Supply Chain, Finance, etc.) and the ability to translate high-level needs into AI use cases.
  • Strong presentation skills to engage with both internal stakeholders and external Japanese enterprise executives.
  • Strong willingness and commitment to work specifically for the Japan market.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience working with Japanese companies as clients or partners is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with Japanese business etiquette and communication styles.
  • Experience building agentic systems and deploying models at scale across major cloud platforms (AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, GCP Vertex).
  • Working knowledge of LangChain, LlamaIndex, or other OSS packages.
