Merck is seeking a Regional Marketing Director for their Animal Health division. This role will focus on leading strategic launches of new innovative products, aligning regional and local marketing teams, and optimizing market deployment to capture value. The Director will also oversee regional roadmap implementation, market demand planning, and represent Global Companion Animal Marketing to the Regional VP and Leadership Team. Responsibilities include developing regional strategies, activating a network of business unit directors, managing marketing assets, collaborating with digital enablement, and ensuring successful product launches through effective marketing and sales enablement.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop regional and key market alignment in support of priority business drivers, Lead Localized Strategy Regional roadmap process encompassing all marketing and sales enablement.
  2. Lead and activate a regional network of BUDs to ensure engagement, alignment, and execution of needed actions to achieve the regional objectives.
  3. Will organize necessary follow-up and task force with the regional and global teams to ensure successful delivery of the aligned objectives for the year.
  4. Work with the Digital enablement department and the regional and local marketing teams to develop customer journeys and omnichannel operational strategy to reach identified targets.
  5. Responsible to provide a broad set of adapted marketing assets to support local key launches.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree (business administration, marketing, communications, sales management, biology, animal science, or relevant area)
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of broad work experience in marketing (communications, brand, product, channel, operational) and related sales support activities.
  • Demonstrated management of A&P budgets.

Nice to have

  • Master’s Degree, MBA or Advanced degree in marketing, sales management, communications, animal science, or veterinary medicine
  • Strong life science, veterinary medicine, animal science, medical marketing and business experience
  • Business Unit Director or Country Management leadership experience
  • Digital marketing acumen and experience especially in lead generation and conversion.
  • Excellent ability to manage workflow with regional and local markets.
  • Familiarity of the Animal Health industry or related industry
