Area Project Controls Lead, Mega Campus

The Project Controls Lead will oversee project controls operations for a large-scale AI infrastructure campus, managing cost controls, financial reporting, and commercial deliverables. This role involves leading a team, partnering with various internal departments and external contractors, and analyzing project health. A key aspect is the integration and responsible use of AI tools to optimize workflows and drive impact.

What you'd actually do

  1. Technical lead in Cost Controls on the project, including budget management, forecasting, change management diligence / Owner Change Order quality, invoice review, accruals, and risk facilitation
  2. Develop and maintain the overall project controls strategy and operations for a mega campus (1 GW+)
  3. Analyze and communicate the projects Project Controls Health (financial, change, and risk) to project and DEC leadership
  4. Identify project commercial risk mitigation opportunities in collaboration with the Schedule Lead, Delivery team, and XFN partners, and drive those opportunities into resolution
  5. Support the Preconstruction team in the review of General Contractor contracts & commercial terms, gathering of historical data, incorporation of master contract terms, communication, and management of finalized internal budget

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years of Construction Project Controls Subject Matter Expert in Cost management, construction change orders, and risk management
  • Proficient in Oracle Unifier
  • Demonstrated experience developing and driving actions or operational adjustments based on project controls performance metrics
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of project controls professionals
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Cross Functional Teams to influence strategic direction
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Nice to have

  • Familiar with Earned Value Management or collection and analysis of resource data
  • Familiar with Data Center, Manufacturing, Infrastructure or Construction programs requiring complicated commissioning specifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Equivalent Technical Field or related field experience
  • Successful development and implementation of project controls strategies in a large organization
  • Experience negotiating construction changes or complex construction claims
  • Experience leading complex project or program project controls amongst a large group internal and external of project stakeholders
