Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Assembly Mechanic to support MQ-25. The role involves assembling, installing, and testing structural components and systems according to engineering specifications. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, using hand and power tools for assembly, installing components, testing systems, troubleshooting, and maintaining records. The position requires experience with aircraft structural parts fabrication, assembly processes, sheet metal assemblies, and using hand tools. Experience with electrical assembly installation and reading engineering drawings is preferred. The role is physically demanding and requires working onsite.

What you'd actually do

  1. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to understand assembly requirements for structural components.
  2. Assemble structural components, including beams, frames, panels, brackets, and other structural elements, using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  3. Assemble precision assemblies, set up and operate ream fixtures to drill, ream, countersink, spot face, hone and bore for mating major assemblies.
  4. Install press fit bushings and force fit bushings. File, fit, hone, ream, drill, tap, saw, burr and adjust.
  5. Assemble a variety of production aircraft and spacecraft parts and install aircraft equipment, support equipment or power plant equipment.

Skills

Required

  • Experience with aircraft structural parts fabrication, assembly processes and procedures
  • Experience with sheet metal assemblies, drilling, countersinking, riveting, and fastener installation
  • Experience in electrical assembly installation
  • Experience in assembly or mechanical work
  • Experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools

  • Aircraft assembly experience
  • Experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
