Boeing is seeking candidates for an Assembly Mechanic Apprenticeship program focused on composites. This 12-week program provides on-the-job training to develop skills in interpreting drawings, working with composite materials, and ensuring quality and safety in a manufacturing environment. Upon completion, apprentices may transition to a union-represented Assembly Mechanic position.

What you'd actually do

  1. interpreting model-based drawings and blueprints
  2. following work instructions
  3. working with high-performance materials like fiberglass, carbon fiber, and epoxy resins, honeycomb
  4. identifying all required hand tools, parts and equipment to accomplish defect-free work and ensuring structural integrity and safety
  5. understanding composite layup techniques, curing processes, and surface finishing, with a focus on quality control and precision

Skills

Required

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Understanding of intermediate math
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance

Nice to have

  • Experience using basic precision measuring tools
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
