Asset Based Lending Senior Business Development Officer

This role is responsible for sourcing new financing opportunities and leading deal teams through the analysis, approval, and execution phases of asset-based lending (ABL) transactions within Bank of America's fintech domain. Key responsibilities include managing sole lender, club, and syndicated ABL deals, developing external referral networks (private equity, investment banks, consultants, direct credit lenders), and cultivating internal referral networks with relationship managers and credit product managers. The role involves originating ABL credit facilities for companies over $50MM in revenue, acquiring profitable client relationships through sales and prospecting, interpreting financial statements to assess company conditions and industry trends, collaborating with internal partners to deliver ABL solutions, leading client discussions on industry trends and capital structures, and coaching peers. Required skills include direct calling experience at senior levels, 5+ years in ABL lending, strong oral/written/analytical/credit skills, travel ability, and FINRA licenses (7, 63, 79). Desired skills include completion of a bank credit training program.

What you'd actually do

  1. Originates new asset based lending credit facilities for companies $50MM+ in revenue
  2. Acquires profitable client relationships through sales, prospecting, and enhancing existing relationships
  3. Understands and interprets financial and cash flow statements to assess and analyze financial conditions of companies and industry trends
  4. Collaborates with internal bank partners to deliver asset based lending solutions to clients and prospects
  5. Leads and facilitates dialogue with complex clients and prospects on topics such as the industry, alternative capital structures, and general business issues

Skills

Required

  • Direct calling experience at the CEO, CFO and MD level
  • Five+ years of experience in ABL Lending
  • Strong oral, written and analytical/credit skills
  • Ability to travel for in-person meetings
  • FINRA 7, 63 and 79 licenses (if not currently licensed, must be completed within 180 days of start date)
