Asset Based Lending Senior Business Development Officer

This role is responsible for sourcing new financing opportunities and leading deal teams through the analysis, approval, and execution phases of a transaction within asset-based lending. It involves working on sole lender, club, and widely syndicated ABL transactions, maintaining an external referral network, and developing an internal referral network to work with prospective ABL clients. Key responsibilities include originating new ABL credit facilities, acquiring profitable client relationships, interpreting financial statements, collaborating with internal partners, leading client discussions, and coaching peers.

What you'd actually do

  1. Originates new asset based lending credit facilities for companies $50MM+ in revenue
  2. Acquires profitable client relationships through sales, prospecting, and enhancing existing relationships
  3. Understands and interprets financial and cash flow statements to assess and analyze financial conditions of companies and industry trends
  4. Collaborates with internal bank partners to deliver asset based lending solutions to clients and prospects
  5. Leads and facilitates dialogue with complex clients and prospects on topics such as the industry, alternative capital structures, and general business issues

Skills

Required

  • Direct calling experience at the CEO, CFO and MD level
  • Five+ years of experience in ABL Lending
  • Strong oral, written and analytical/credit skills
  • Ability to travel for in-person meetings
  • FINRA 7, 63 licenses (if not currently licensed, must be completed within 180 days of start date)

  • Completion of a bank credit training program
