Associate Analyst, EMEA Private Capital role at PitchBook, a Morningstar company. What you'd actually do

  1. Provide research support to the EMEA Private Capital team covering alternative investments with an emphasis on venture capital and private equity as well as institutional allocators, global economic conditions, and other relevant spaces
  2. Help establish research frameworks to provide independent commentary, evaluations, and forecasts around our primary coverage areas, while identifying unique themes that may impact private markets
  3. Utilise proprietary PitchBook data, online sources, newspapers, academic white papers, public and private company research notes, economic indicator forecasts, etc. to inform and develop actionable analysis
  4. Write and edit research reports as directed by the research team in accordance with the publishing calendar
  5. Help manage direct-to-client distribution channels for published notes

Skills

Required

  • Knowledge of financial concepts such as valuation techniques (DCF, comps, etc.) IRRs, portfolio management, etc.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interest in private financial markets including private equity and venture capital
  • 1+ years of experience in equity research or other related financial services role
  • Critical thinker, detail-oriented, self-starter with an analytical mindset
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
  • Must be authorized to work in the United Kingdom without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Economics preferred, but not essential
  • Experience writing long-form research is a plus
  • Experience in PitchBook Platform is a plus
