Associate Avionics Technician for F/A-18 aircraft at Boeing, focusing on performing connector terminations, routing and handling of harnesses, sealing, wrapping, bonding, tying, and closure of wire harnesses and cables. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications to perform electrical modifications and repairs, using tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of electrical wiring. Responsibilities include assembly, installation, visual inspection, modification of wire bundles & electrical assemblies, and operational/quality checks of aircraft. The technician will also troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft electrical and comms/nav-systems, interpret work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, and operate equipment safely. This role requires the ability to pass an assessment during training and may involve working variable shifts, weekends, and overtime.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform connector terminations including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring
  2. Ability and understanding of routing instructions and handling of harnesses.
  3. Perform sealing, wrapping, bonding, tying, and closure of wire harnesses and cables in accordance with standard processes
  4. Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform electrical modifications and repairs
  5. Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of electrical wiring
