The Trade Desk is seeking an Associate Business Development Director in Tokyo to manage and grow key client accounts within their digital advertising platform. This role involves building relationships, understanding client needs, communicating platform value, and participating in product roadmap discussions. The position requires extensive experience in online advertising, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally.

What you'd actually do

  1. Acquire, build, and cultivate relationships with senior client leadership
  2. Work cross-functionally with client services and trading teams to cultivate accounts
  3. Communicate the value of our media buying platform by walking through detailed demonstrations of the product
  4. Participate in product road map build out discussions based on client needs with senior leadership, product, & engineering
  5. Take the lead in responding to RFP’s or new inner agency opportunities, including qualification & win strategy

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in online advertising
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience establishing long-standing, consultative client relationships
  • Strong quantitative skills and negotiations ability
  • Fluent in Japanese and English

  • Existing relationships with decision-makers at major holding companies
  • Experience working with a technical platform
