What you'd actually do

  1. Structure, draft and negotiate agreements with third parties related to technology, including but not limited to intellectual property licenses, SaaS agreements, software, hardware and maintenance agreements, market data agreements, index license agreements, platform agreements, and cloud services contracts.
  2. Manage end-to-end negotiations, and navigate internal processes and coordinate with internal stakeholders, partners and clients to reach timely and successful execution of agreements.
  3. Provide guidance and subject matter expertise on new and existing regulatory requirements to internal business and functional partners.
  4. Support the firm’s M&A and investment activities with due diligence and integration support.
  5. Provide advisory and transactional support to the firm’s applied research teams and innovation centers in the technology organization, including with respect to interpreting contractual requirements and advising on risk.

Skills

Required

  • Law degree or educational equivalent
  • Attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm or corporate law environment
  • Experience negotiating customized technology transactions for a large, multi-product, global client base
  • Experience drafting and negotiating contracts with third party providers
  • Strong interest in new and emerging technology solutions and applications
  • Familiarity with global regulatory issues relevant to the use of technology in financial services
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and legal research skills
  • Strong business judgment and strategic thinking
  • Proven ability to independently identify issues, analyze problems and provide viable solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of personnel and management
  • Ability to work under accurately under pressure, handle deadlines, and manage multiple tasks in a high performance environment
