Whatnot is seeking an Associate Creative Director, Category Marketing to lead the strategy, development, and execution of physical and digital events that resonate with their communities. This role involves collaborating with category and marketing teams, overseeing end-to-end creative processes, managing a design team, and staying ahead of trends to keep events fresh and culturally resonant. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in brand and experiential creative roles, with a proven track record in social-first environments and leadership of creative teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate closely with category and marketing teams to develop and execute event strategy and design that supports our business goals and objectives.
  2. Oversee end-to-end processes, from initial concepts to final handoff, to deliver work that drives loyalty and engagement.
  3. Manage and mentor a team of designers providing guidance and feedback to foster a collaborative environment of creative excellence.
  4. Lead brainstorming and ideation sessions, generate new ideas and concepts for event campaigns, and develop creative briefs that inspire the team to deliver outstanding work.
  5. Stay ahead of trends, emerging platforms, and creative best practices to keep our events fresh, effective, and culturally resonant.
