This role focuses on optimizing public and private access to medicines in Atlantic Canada by building relationships with key external stakeholders, developing expertise in drug reimbursement processes, and translating insights into actionable recommendations. It involves partnering with access strategists and health economics colleagues, contributing to negotiation strategies, and maintaining intelligence on Canadian reimbursement and provincial policy trends.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with access strategists and health economics and outcomes research colleagues to develop and review submissions to HTAs and public/private payers, and to shape the strategies and tactics that optimize coverage and access for patients in Atlantic Canada.
  2. Contribute to negotiation strategy development and support negotiations with payers and other partners, as needed.
  3. Lead the development and review of provincial product listing agreements and other agreements, in partnership with pricing, medical, legal, and access colleagues.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional partners (marketing, medical, sales, legal, regulatory affairs, access programs, clinical trials, and more) to deliver key projects and resolve complex access situations.
  5. Maintain strong expertise and current intelligence on the Canadian reimbursement landscape and Atlantic provincial policy trends, decision-making processes, and stakeholder priorities.

Skills

Required

  • University degree - Minimum of a Bachelor degree in life sciences, health policy or another relevant field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of drug reimbursement processes and stakeholder decision-making.
  • Strategic thinking, business acumen, and willingness to test and learn through innovative approaches.
  • Proven ability to solve complex issues with customers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sense of collaboration.
  • Strong ethics and integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Availability to travel.
